DigiHood

Yesterday saw the first DigiHood event take place, in the trendy neighbourhood of Manchester’s Northern Quarter – and it didn’t disappoint. The brainchild of our very own Chris Langan, he decided to create a meetup for like-minded digital marketing experts based in Manchester; in the hope of broadening their professional horizons as well as establishing personal contacts – for future DigiHood meetups, naturally!

Held at the popular hangout of Kosmonaut bar, people from a variety of industry backgrounds came together to talk about their professions and interests – whether you were a web designer or a copywriter, all creatives were welcome to mingle (as well as even fit in a cheeky game of ping pong).

From boutique agencies to those operating on a freelance basis, it was a great opportunity to gain insight into the various digital sectors – and as a result, several successful partnerships are already in the pipeline!

SEO account manager, Chris Langan, was especially pleased with the turnout: “DigiHood was great! I organised it because I was looking for a meetup to attend and I didn’t particularly see one that excited me. They are all very niche and I wanted a more catch-all networking event – a mixing pot of people working in all sorts of digital roles, reflective of the work environment. We can always learn new ways our job is influenced, and how it influences all these different roles – and based on the variety of people last night, I think it was a success. I’m really glad I did it, and I’m thankful to everyone that came – I’m already planning DigiHood 2!

“Also, a quick thanks to Pete for the design help – and to Jack for the support as well as the additional input in design!”
