Hitwise reveals surge in Jubilee search terms

As the UK gets into party mood to mark Queen Elizabeth II's diamond jubilee, the nation's internet users have been heading online to help arrange their festivities.

As a result, in the preceding 12 weeks, more than 65,000 unique search terms with a Royal or Jubilee connection have been used by Britons, according to Hitwise, the country's leading measurer of online behaviour.

The company has compiled a word cloud which illustrates the most dominant terms used (see illustration), and points out that many people – apparently unaware that the Queen has been on the throne for 60 years, or to get ideas for celebrations this time around
